Le Korsa seeks partners to help launch Bët-bi and set it on its course of bringing people together through art and transforming the regional economy, and we will be thrilled to recognize donors at the $10,000 level and above by including them on our Founding Donors’ Wall.
Construction Contributions and Naming Opportunities:
We estimate that the center (including exhibition, administrative, program, storage, gathering, research/archive, cafe, boutique, and artisan spaces) will initially cost $7.5-8 million and we seek donors at multiple levels.
$250,000 – We would be pleased to honor donors at the $250,000 level by naming our outdoor performance theater in their names or in the name of someone of their choosing.
$150,000 – We offer the same naming opportunity to donors at the $150,000 level to pay for individual galleries or the library.
$100,000 – Donors at the $100,000 level will have their names on our space for artisans.
In order to meet Bët-bi’s mission, its operating budget will include a range of staff salaries, program costs, guest curator stipends, educational costs, and expenses for excursions to the stone circles, among other costs. Gifts between $15,000 - $50,000 will help cover some of those annual operating costs.
– For instance, your generous gift might cover the stipend of a guest curator as part of our effort to support professional training, experience, and networking for emerging and established African museum professionals.
– Your gift could support our mission to advance the restitution of African historic objects to their place of origin by funding a specialist on staff to manage research into museums and private collections, organize contact with proper authorities in the governments with whom we would be negotiating, and help outline a path forward for each situation.
– Your donation might fund programming to engage local communities, including art education classes, concerts and music festivals, film screenings, community discussions, and guest speakers.
Endowment for Bët-bi:
Our ultimate goal is to fund an endowment to ensure Bët-bi’s future as an integral and enriching part of the lives of those in surrounding communities and a thrilling destination for more far-flung visitors, and we’re seeking generous contributors to establish such a fund.
